Sunflower Farm guarantees our puppies to be free of hip dysplasia and genetic eye diseases for two years (puppies second birthday.) If puppy is found to have hip dysplasia (beyond a mild condition) or a genetic eye disease (cataracts), Purchaser has the option of keeping puppy and receiving half of your purchase price back or returning puppy and receiving another one of equal value as soon as one is available. Sunflower Farms must be provided with the official documentation from OFA for the hips and the CERF documents for the eyes and be provided the contact numbers and records from the regular Vet that has been taking care of the puppy. If obesity is found to be the cause of hip problems, this guarantee is null and void. If excessive stairs or overexertion is found to be a factor, then this guarantee is null and void. If buyer elects to get a new puppy, all shipping fees are the responsibility of the buyer. Sunflower Farms will not be held responsible for Vet bills, OFA fees or CERF cost.
- We highly recommend that you keep your puppy on a high quality food, such as that supplied with your "Puppy-Pack" We recommend Diamond Naturals Puppy Food, the one we start your puppy on. We order it online from Chewy but you may also find it at Tractor Supply or other pet stores. It is recommended to feed puppy food for the first year. Feel free to conduct your own research, ask friends and your vet. Basically, any GOOD quality natural food or one without by-products is acceptable. Join Dog Food Advisor. They will send you notices of any recalls on pet food. They also research and rate dog foods so you can look yours up. Stay away from all treats made outside the USA, especially from China. They have no quality control on pet products.
- Puppies, under no circumstances, should ever be allowed to become overweight or allowed to sit in a crate all day. If a puppy/dog is found to be overweight with health problems, this health guarantee is NULL and VOID!
- For the first year of his life only exercised moderately. Short walks, swimming & supervised play with other dogs to allow for proper joint and bone development. Puppies should only be allowed to climb stairs on occasion, for the first year, as it is not good for hip development.
- Our puppies are covered with a 24 month hip & eye guarantee as well as the 72 hour general health guarantee. All of our breeding dogs are health tested for appropriate genetic health issues via Paw Prints Genetics . If both parents were tested 'clear' , then the offspring is 'clear by parentage'. In other words, doesn't need to be tested. All of our currently breeding females come from tested and cleared parents.
- We ask that you keep your puppy on the NuVet vitamins, which we have supplied you a sample of, for at least one year for the Health Guarantee to be valid. (We do track this through the NuVet Company, and know as soon as you order) We feel that this is the VERY BEST vitamin on the market today for your puppy's overall health...from puppy to elder dog.
